Award Notifications
You will receive notification at your registered KU email account when your eligibility for financial aid has been determined and your awards are available for review. Award notifications are sent weekly. Check your email and Enroll & Pay frequently to check your financial aid status and review any official KU correspondence.
You can establish a registered KU email account at www.ku.edu/computing/services.
ACCEPT/DECLINE AWARDS
You will need to accept or decline your financial aid awards through Enroll & Pay (Student Center > Accept/Decline Awards). You will have 30 days from the date of the email to accept financial aid before it is cancelled. If your aid is cancelled, you may request reinstatement of your financial aid. A request for reinstatement does not guarantee that your original awards will still be available.
On the Accept/Decline Awards page, you will have the option to accept or decline each award. (If you want to accept only part of a loan, click accept and reduce the dollar amount to what you want to accept.) In some cases, you may change your eligibility for Federal Work-Study to loan eligibility, and vice versa. Contact FAS for details.
ACCEPTING LOANS
See the Financial Aid Guide to review annual and aggregate loan limits. If you accept loan funds, you are required to have a Master Promissory Note (MPN) on file. If you accept a Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), your parent will be required to submit a PLUS Request form for the current aid year and will also be required to electronically sign an MPN. To determine what items are needed to complete your financial aid file, login to Enroll & Pay (Student Center>"To Do List"). The items on your "To Do List" must be completed before financial aid funds can be disbursed.
Note: Financial aid may be adjusted or cancelled after you have completed the acceptance process. See the Financial Aid Guide for details on what circumstances may lead to an adjustment or cancellation.
